Welcome to Music, Message, Messiah, where music is diversified, message is simplified and Christ is glorified. I’m so glad you decided to stop by! I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Siobhan (Sha-BON) McIntyre, a writer, concert-goer and Jesus lover who strives to live a life poured out. I’m originally from North Carolina but I currently reside in Maryland, where I’m pursuing a Master’s degree in Contemporary Communication with plans to work in the gospel music industry. I graduated from Wake Forest University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. After undergrad, I decided to put my writing skills to good use (and evade the dreaded "What are you doing after graduation?" questions) by starting this blog.
Music, Message Messiah is the place where my Christian faith and my love for music and writing collide. I love all genres of music, but Jesus music is my favorite. I’ve been to over 60 concerts in my lifetime, and I’ve met a plethora of Christian artists over the years. I’m really passionate about music that is written from the heart, and I support Christian artists who live out what they sing.
I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember. From third grade all the way through high school, my works were featured in an anthology called the Wayne County Collection. In 2011, I shared my life story in a local North Carolina magazine called Positive Perspectives, and in undergrad, I had the privilege of collaborating with one of my professors on an article that was published in the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of the NCTE (ALAN) Review in August 2016. When I introduce myself, I emphasize that I am not a writer who happens to be Christian, I am a Christian who operates in the gift of writing.
My faith is at the forefront of everything I do, so as a blogger, I strive to present my readers with a clear depiction of a God who is gracious enough to meet us where we are. I’ve been saved for 19 of my 25 years, but I’m still learning about the complexities of the Christian walk (and I’m learning from the best, if I do say so myself). I’m a proud member of First Baptist Church of Glenarden, under the leadership of Pastor John K. Jenkins, Sr. As I learn more about who Jesus is to me, I’ll share with anyone who will listen. My goal is to show others that salvation is relatable and attainable. I’m a firm believer that God can be found wherever we look for Him.
On this blog, you’ll find amazing music, both Christian and secular, explored through the lens of the Messiah. While I do love music, I believe that Jesus’ message is even more important. I cover a variety of topics including, but not limited to relationships, singleness, and millennial struggles. As an encourager, I also try my best to speak candidly about things I’m dealing with in an effort uplift others through God-inspired wisdom. Everything you read here will be based in biblical truth and sound doctrine. I pray that as you scroll through this site, you’ll find something that speaks directly to your heart and reminds you that you’re not alone. If you like what you see here, keep up with Music, Message, Messiah on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and subscribe to the blog so you’ll never miss a post.
Peace and blessings,
