YouTube sensation Tré Melvin "came out" last night on the latest episode of his popular YouTube series "This Is A Commentary," announcing that he is bisexual. While I do not personally agree with his lifestyle choices, I will continue to watch his videos. YouTube (and the internet in general) is a very judgmental, unforgiving platform. Tré has a huge following on the site, and he knew that he would probably lose a lot of viewers, yet he still had the courage to be unapologetically himself. I will continue to watch "This Is A Commentary" because I believe it is something the world (especially Black America) needs to see. Tré addresses issues that most people wouldn't dare talk about with a very direct (& totally hilarious) approach. Yes, he uses profanity (which I do not condone in any way), but his overall messages are so true (sometimes a little TOO true, lol). His sexual orientation has nothing to do with the fact that he keeps it real. Tré, thank you for always giving us YOU.

So Overrated: New Year's Resolutions
I'm not making a New Year's resolution this year. Usually we don't accomplish those anyway. My only goal for the next year is to be a better me. I will strive to make my todays better than my yesterdays & my tomorrows better than my todays. I hope to grow each and every day in every aspect of my life. God, in 2014 and every year that follows, I ask You to grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. I don't know what 2014 has in store for me, but I'm ready to find out. Happy New Year!
